Jewelry Making and Teaching Jewelry Classes is my third career. I started as an Emergency Room RN and then owned a Residential Real Estate Company for many years. In 2005 we moved to Portland and I began to seriously pursue my jewelry making hobby. I have taken classes around Portland for 7 years, including most of the ones that Barbara at Artisans of Metal and Thread offers. I also taught at a craft store in SE Portland for 4 years as well as teaching privately from my home. I am primarily interested in passing this wonderful skill and hobby on to others. I teach the most basic levels of jewelry making and believe that if you understand the tools and material options and know how to attach a clasp and wire wrap beads you are well on your way to successful jewelry making. Beyond that I do offer some more advanced project based classes and many of these are based on off loom weaving techniques. None of my courses require any special skills and investment in equipment is minimal. Once you have completed the Introduction to Beaded Jewelry Making and the Introduction to Wire Wrap you should be able to move easily into my more advanced classes. Please feel free to email me with questions about classes at kaul4247@comcast.net. You can see some of my work in my etsy shop at www.strandsandmore.etsy.com If you are interested in a custom class, want to learn to repair your own jewelry or need a different time, please feel free to email with your request and needs. I am flexible and can change the class schedule quite easily.
